Who are we?
We are a small group of patients of TMC committed to maintaining good relations between the practice and its patients, working collaboratively to improve services and facilities for patients.
We meet every 2 months in the surgery with the Practice manage and a GP to discuss any changes, developments or issues affecting us all. We collaborate and with goodwill. But currently some frustrations that as a small group we do not have the resourced to do as much as we could to support the practice and its patients.
Challenges
“The digital front door” involves us all in the way patients can communicate with the practice. The NHS App is increasingly used to include our individual medical records, appointments history and for renewing prescriptions.
These initiatives are designed to increase efficiencies but concern remains that patients who do not use IT should not be disadvantaged and are still able to call the surgery when they need help.

We need help!
Our small group needs strengthening with a few new members who can bring their life experience, ideas and skills to help us move forward.
What sort of help is needed?
- We are short of members with a range of IT/Admin skills who could help improve our communication with patients.
- We would like to set up a face book page (without a comments facility) which could include news from the practice and signpost local health care events and developments in primary care.
- We need to put together a newsletter periodically which includes up dates from the practice and other items of interest, we would like to explore other ways of communication between patients and the PPG.
- There is PPG noticeboard in the waiting room where previous newsletters and news items are posted.
